​Watch a video slideshow from Lawyers’ Assistance Program’s 2016 Joseph R. Bartylak Dinner, which took place on Friday, April 8, 2016.  The Keynote Speaker was Illinois Chief Justice Rita B. Garman, and Judge John Gorman and Matthew Huttmacher were honored at the Dinner.  Judge Gorman received the Joseph R. Bartylak Award and Matthew Huttmacher received the President’s Award.
 
Corboy & Demetrio Partner Francis Patrick Murphy is serving as Lawyers' Assistance Program's Treasurer for the 2016-2017 term. Patrick is a Past President of LAP and also previously served as Secretary.
 
The LAP assists Illinois lawyers, judges, and law students with alcohol, drug, or mental health issues.

​We put together a video montage of children receiving presents at the Lawyers Lend-A-Hand holiday party for its new tutoring program on Dec. 20, 2016, at CBA headquarters in Chicago.  Sixteen children from Englewood, participants in the program, attended, along with their tutors. 
 
Corboy & Demetrio donated gifts for the children and captured these heartwarming moments as the children were called up to the front, one by one, to accept their gifts.  In the video, C&D’s Rita Planera, a Lend-A-Hand Board Member, and Wien DeStefano, are seen handing them out.

Corboy & Demetrio Co-founder Thomas Demetrio created the Lawyers Lend-A-Hand Award of Excellence in 1994 while he was President of the Chicago Bar Association.  Each year, he funds the award, which recognizes outstanding youth mentoring programs.
 
The Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth Program, which administers Tom’s award, was created by The Chicago Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Foundation in 1995 in dedication to the lasting memory and generosity of the Honorable Judge Abraham Lincoln Marovitz.
