​Corboy & Demetrio Partner Michael K. Demetrio and Corboy & Demetrio CFO Marcy Twardak took part in the 17th Annual Lend a Shoulder Day, hosted by the Chairmen's Advisory Council of the Big Shoulders Fund.   Mike visited Academy of St. Benedict and Marcy visited Holy Angels in Chicago.

The Big Shoulders Fund creates brighter futures for nearly 20,000 Chicago inner-city students attending 77 Catholic schools.   Marcy and Mike saw not only the schools and classes in action but had the opportunity to meet and engage with students. They had the unique opportunity to see firsthand how Big Shoulders Fund schools, 64 elementary and 13 high schools in the city’s most underserved neighborhoods, helps the nearly 20,000 students.  ​

Corboy & Demetrio is a Cornerstone Sponsor of the Chicago Bar Foundation Fall Benefit, which will take place at the Museum of Science and Industry on Saturday, November 19, 2016.
 
The annual CBF benefit is a major fundraiser for the non-profit organization, which was started by a group of attorneys in 1948.

Corboy & Demetrio Partners Robert J. Bingle, Philip Corboy, Jr. and Francis Patrick Murphy have been named to 2016 Irish Legal 100.  This is the this is the second year that Philip Corboy, Jr. and Francis Patrick Murphy have been named to the elite list, and it’s the inaugural year for Robert Bingle.
The highly-selected members of the Irish Legal 100 are the 100 leading lawyers nationwide of Irish descent.

​Corboy & Demetrio Partner Francis Patrick Murphy will be sworn in on Nov. 3, 2016 to begin serving as Treasurer of Lawyers’ Assistance Program for the 2016-2017 term.   Patrick’s installation will happen at the LAP Annual Dinner at The University Club of Chicago.  Patrick is a Past President of LAP, serving two consecutive terms from 2012-2014.  He also served as LAP Secretary in 2015.
 
Lawyers’ Assistance Program is a not-for-profit organization that helps Illinois lawyers, judges, law students and their families concerned about alcohol abuse, drug dependency or stress related issues like anxiety, burnout, depression and many others.  LAP services include individual and group therapy, assessments, education, peer support and intervention.
