 Corboy & Demetrio Partner Philip Corboy, Jr. spoke at the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago’s Annual Luncheon on June 21, 2018. Philip currently serves as a LAF Governing Board Member and is a Past Board President.
LAF assists underprivileged communities in Cook County by providing civil legal services to those in need. Because there is no constitutional right to counsel in civil courts, many go without the legal resources they need. LAF works to give those in need necessary legal resources that they would not otherwise have. At the luncheon, the Hon. Ann Claire Williams received the Champion of Justice Award for her commitment to serving those in poverty. Additionally, Ainat Margalit received the Jerold S. Solovy Equal Justice Award. Among those attending were Corboy & Demetrio Attorneys Susan Schwartz, Ken Lumb, Andrew Stevens, Michael D. Ditore and L. Michael Flanagan; Corboy & Demetrio Intern Ryan Corboy; Joseph Tennial, Community Outreach Coordinator for U.S. Senator Dick Durbin’s Office; and LAF’s Ana Duperron-Sperling.

Judge Charles P. Kocoras, United States Federal Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, will be honored with the Hellenic Bar Association's Socrates Dikastes Award at the annual event.
