Zachary Tran Memorial Fund

Zachary Tran was just six years old when he was killed by a soccer goal that tipped over and crushed him.  The goal was portable and not anchored down.  Corboy & Demetrio partner Shawn Kasserman represented the Tran family in a civil lawsuit but after the case was settled, Shawn did not stop working with the Tran family.  Kasserman helped draft Illinois legislation, which will require newly purchased soccer goals to be anchored.

The Zachary Tran Memorial Fund helps educate the public on the dangers of unanchored soccer goals and promotes soccer goal safety, in addition to providing youth access to activities where those opportunities are limited.
