PSA Videos – Soccer Goal Safety and Zach’s Law

Three PSA Videos Released to Educate Public about Danger of Soccer Goals

Corboy & Demetrio is proud to announce the launch of  Make Soccer Safe Campaign to educate the public about the danger of unsecured movable soccer goals.  To launch the campaign, the firm has released three Public Service Announcement(PSA) videos in partnership with the non-profit organization, Anchored for Safety, which promotes soccer goal safety.

Anchored for Safety was founded by clients Jayson and Michelle Tran in 2004 after their six-year-old son Zachary died when an unsecured soccer goal fell on him.   The Trans, like most parents, were unaware of the danger of movable soccer goals left unsecured.  The Illinois family created Anchoredforsafety.org to help warn the public about the danger and the lack of legislation regulating the anchoring of movable soccer goals.   The Tran family also set out to change the law, which it did in August of 2011, when the Illinois Movable Soccer Goal Safety Act, known as “Zach’s Law” was signed into law.   Anchored for Safety and Corboy & Demetrio hope the the PSA videos educate the public about the little-known law.

Anchored for Safety operates the website, anchoredforsafety.org, which provides educational material for coaches and soccer clubs, as well as for parents and children.  The site tracks news covereage of the issue as well as provides updates on soccer goal safety legislation and recent statistics about deaths and injuries.
