The awards honor lawyers from a broad cross-section of the legal community whose passion for serving others is reflected in their commitment to the ideals of equal access to justice.
The CBF, with the help of the CBA, is the largest voluntarily supported bar foundation in the country.
Recognizing several of the Chicago legal profession’s unsung heroes and their dedication to pro bono and public service, the awards serve to build awareness of the impact their collective efforts can have in the lives of the most vulnerable people in our community.

Bill currently represents more than 100 athletes in concussion litigation against sports leagues, including representing numerous retired NFL players and the Estate of former Chicago Bear Dave Duerson against the NFL. He also practices in the areas of railroad negligence, automobile collisions, unsafe pharmaceuticals or medical devices, construction negligence, medical negligence, premises liability, product liability and aviation litigation.
Corboy & Demetrio is a proud sponsor of the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Illinois’ 15th Annual Golf Outing on July 24, 2019. SCIA, founded in 1979, serves as a community for those affected by paralysis and those working in related fields. The organization provides services to aid those with spinal cord injuries and to educate others in order to prevent injuries. Corboy & Demetrio is a longtime SCIA supporter and is a Lunch Sponsor of the Golf Outing, which will be held at the Gleneagles Country Club in Lemont.
Corboy & Demetrio hosted a pizza lunch for a group of young men from Mercy Home for Boys & Girls. The students spent the morning learning about Cook County Circuit Courts at Daley Plaza as part of a summer Career Day experience.
The Mercy Home for Boys & Girls is a Catholic organization that provides a nurturing home, support, mentoring and spiritual development for children and families in the Chicagoland area. Since 1887, Mercy Home has been successfully aiding lives of those in need. Corboy & Demetrio CFO Marcy Twardak serves as Chair of the Leader Council.
