Cristo Rey Jesuit High School was founded in 1996 by the Chicago Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) to serve Chicago’s near southwest side Latino community. The school relies on its Corporate Internship Program, which helps fund students’ tuition. In 2011, Cristo Rey’s valedictorian was one of Corboy & Demetrio’s interns who worked at the firm for all four years of her high school education.
Through its work-study program, students work five days a month in entry-level jobs at Chicago companies, which help fund the cost of their education.
More than 100 Chicago companies take part and the program has evolved into a means to give students valuable work experience in addition to helping them receive financial assistance for their education.
Corboy & Demetrio sponsors four students each school year.
