Corboy & Demetrio partner Francis Patrick Murphy has been named to the Board of Directors of Hazelden Chicago. Hazelden provides alcohol and drug rehabilitation, including outpatient treatment, and inpatient sober living residences for people in recovery, as well as continuing care and family programs. Patrick was also recently appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to sit on the Board of Directors for the Legal Assistance Program in Chicago.
Patrick, who has been in recovery for 28 years, has been with the Chicago law firm of Corboy & Demetrio since 1983, becoming a partner in 1991. He handles complex personal injury and wrongful death cases involving aviation negligence, construction negligence, product liability, premises liability, including porch and deck collapses, and claims resulting from railroad, automobile, and other vehicular negligence.
Mr. Murphy has extensive experience and success in porch and deck collapse cases. He represented several victims of the 2003 Lincoln Park porch collapse and was instrumental in brokering a global settlement of $16.6 million. Patrick has more than fifty settlements and verdicts of $1 million or more.
